On April 11th several members of our club (East York Rotary) spent the day preparing 16 large Sheppard’s Pie for Second Harvest. We all had great fun and are looking forward to doing it again! Second Harvest donated them to Flemingdon Park Ministries. It’s pretty amazing that our one day of work managed to feed 250 people.  Here’s a wonderful quote from Rev. Helena Houldcroft:

“I am more than happy to tell you how wonderful your gift has been. We used them in a diverse way. We used them for meals at our After School Programme, Women’s and Senior’s Programme, and for our Drop In. For that we served over 250 people. We then divided up the large pies and made smaller containers. They were then handed out to our Halal clients at the Food Bank. Our Halal families are large and we served about 100(families). So your efforts went a long way to make a difference in this commuity. There were many compliments about the taste! Thank you and all those involved for participating in such a significant way. I hope we can partner in the future!”
